Unfortunately they didn't even manage to meet my expectations at the halfway mark, it's just really dull. As a sports junky in general I was super excited when drive to survive came out, and when they announced about a year after that they would be doing a similar show for golf I had really high expectations. I found the entire show too boring to watch. The tiger documentary was most well made but I’m still waiting for golfs moment.Ĭame here to see what other people thought and maybe I was missing something but. Don’t you dare say Tin cup or the legend of bagger Vance because if you take your love of the game out of it they are really just shitty movies. The only good movies on golf ever made are comedy’s making fun of the game, caddy shack and happy Gilmore. Golf once has never had a good drama and still doesn’t after this. Netflix renews shows based on completion rates, I can tell you outside of us golfers any of the mainstream audiences that watched the first episode didn’t watch anymore. Thank you Netflix for wasting so much time shooting the inside of a private jet. If there was one more shot of him missing a cut and flying home in a private jet I was going to lose my mind. I get it speith and JT are the biggest names in the game, but Jesus they make for boring ass television. And there are so many crazy stories out there so many pros that have so much personality and they picked the worst ones. There literally wasn’t even one good montage, nothing. Just how they shot it, the music the cinematography.
And before you say it’s hard to capture the drama of the game look at what they did with chefs table, those directors, producers and writers found a way to make guys flipping burgers in slow motion look bad ass and turn chefs into rock stars.

For all the people who think it’s a boring pretentious game filled with pampered ass holes this series did nothing to change their opinion. Much like what formula one did for racing. I’m talking about the people who don’t play or watch golf, for the average person flipping through Netflix and watches an episode and gets captivated. What an absolute disappointment that documentary was, I’ve been waiting forever for golf to get its moment to show its struggle and drama and excitement to the mainstream.
